Tiny Little Movie Review: Chronicle Monday, 6 February 2012, 3:00 pm
It is probably never a good idea to give kids super powers. Or even just powers. Many kids really shouldn’t even have cell phones, and certainly not “smart” ones, but there’s no stopping progress. So, when kids get super powers, like they do in Chronicle, it’s no surprise that they handle them in moody, emotional, dramatic ways. It makes for a great movie, but again, if you have super powers to dole out in some way, do not dole any to kids.
However, if you’re giving out super powers, there’s a couple I’d like. First, I would like the ability to sit endlessly on a plane without getting mad. You know how after you land, and roll up to the deal, and the dings have all dinged, but you still just sit there? Or there’s some stirring, but it’s just people standing up and looking around and maybe trying to extricate their overly large luggage? I’m no Alec Baldwin and I don’t fly that much, but that time just kills. So, that’s one super power I’d like.
Second, or possibly first if I can only have one, I’d like to be able to eat as much Taco Bell as I’d ever want without gaining weight. Yeah, that is definitely one, I can tough out the flying thing. Seriously, look at this thing.
